Sports Management Internship (MGT 302) at The Catholic University of America

Beginning in the Spring 2012 semester, the Department of Business & Economics will offer a new course, Sports Management Internships (MGT 302).

This course is open to all Business & Economics students who would like to earn credit for a Sports Management internship.

Course Objectives:

  • Perform expanded management duties under the supervision of a practicing sports manager.
  • Develop the knowledge and skills needed to succeed within the sports industry.
  • Apply knowledge learned from course work to “real world” situations.
  • Gain expanded management experience in an area of interest in the sports industry.

Course Requirements:

  • You must perform the duties of the internship to the expectations of your site supervisor. This will be reflected in your supervisor’s evaluation at the completion of the practicum.
  • Fulfillment of the contract.
  • Completion of all related assignments and submission of required documentation.

1)     Contact Jennifer Barbera and Professor Yoest to let them know you are interested.

2)     Start researching internships and come to Jennifer or Professor Yoest for assistance.

3)     Secure the internship.

4)     Register for MGT 302 on Cardinal Station when enrollment takes place.
